New York, NY (April 17th, 2017) — Entertainment couple, Ray Chew & Vivian Scott Chew shine bright at the 32nd Annual Stellar Gospel Awards, as they share the good news about their partnership with Carnegie Hall to produce their “A Night Of Inspiration” series. The Chew’s left their mark on this year’s Stellar Awards in Las Vegas with style, flare and a fresh insight as it pertains to the next level in Gospel Music. The power couple and Root Magazine’s Top 20 Power Players of 2016, reconnected with Grammy winners: Fred Hammond, Shirley Caesar & Kirk Franklin and formed alliances with millennial acts, Jonathan McReynolds, Tasha Cobbs & Travis Greene, as they pushed their initiative to continue to bring astounding gospel and secular production to Carnegie Hall.
Carnegie Hall’s collaboration with Ray and Vivian Chew began in 2009, when Ray served as Music Director for Carnegie Hall’s “Honor!” Festival – celebrating the African-American cultural legacy with genres spanning blues, jazz, gospel, R&B, soul and beyond. Soon thereafter, Ray and Vivian, as his producer birthed “A Night of Inspiration” to a sold-out audience, with an all-star concert featuring notable artists from the gospel and secular communities. Due to its popularity, “A Night of Inspiration” returned to the hall in December 2016 with the likes of Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, classical Tenor – Lawrence Brownlee, the legendary Dionne Warwick, Richard Smallwood, Cantor Azi Schwartz (Park Avenue Synagogue – NYC), Donnie McClurkin and Kurt Carr. The Chew’s also invited classical violinist Olen Cesari, teen hit sensation Cam Anthony, along with the praise and worship team – New Faith Music Ministry from Cape Town, South Africa all coming together in the spirit of universal unity. Ray and Vivian are proud to announce their third presentation of a “Night of Inspiration” on December 15, 2018at Carnegie. Some of The Chew’s other successful collaborations with Carnegie include “A Tribute to the Music of Motown” in December 2012, paying homage to the distinctive sound of the legendary record label’s 50+-year legacy as well as a one-of-kind participatory concert in December, 2015 which brought together two of gospel music’s biggest stars—Donnie McClurkin and Kim Burrell.
